Was I ripped off by a DSMtuners member?

Before I post a negative comment, Im looking for someone who knows an Injen intake to tell me if this is legit.

Ive done some research and all the pics of Injen intakes I see online have "Injen" engraved on the side. Is this true?

Also in the photo that was posted of the "Injen" intake forsale the couplers also said Injen. This one had a red coupler that was damaged and had no writing on it.

My other concern was the very rough and awful craftsmanship of the intake itself, which I think is the main proof its a knock-off.

The bottom coupler says Vibrant performance, I googled it and they only make couplers and other Fab parts, no intakes.

Im afraid I was sold a cheap Ebay knock off and told it was legit Injen.

Im not going to post any info about the AD or the one who sold it until I have some solid proof.

I have a lot more to complain about even if Im wrong, and I hope I am.

First it was paid for 1/13/2011. Didnt get shipped until 1/22/2011, I recieved it today. Minus the filter that was included in the sale. I also didnt recieve any mounting hardware for the MAS, only the adapter.

Give me some insight how I should procede. If need be I can provide the link to the origional Ad, and the PM between the seller and I.

Is there no brand on it anywhere? I think you need to contact this member about what happened or at least PayPal because I would classify this as "grossly not the same item as described" as PayPal puts it. I hope you paid through PayPal, and didn't send the money as a gift.

honestly to me it looks like ebay stuff. injen pipes are normally much better grade of finish and like you said stamped

No markings on it anywhere. Not even the "Injen" on the coupler that was on his posted photo of the item.

I recently installed a brand new injen intake for a buddy. I wasnt impressed with the "quality", but I must say....it looked exactly like your "ebay" intake. All the welds and air fittings looks the same, the inside looks the same and if I recall, there were no engravings on it. Maybe some type of Injen tab that could easily fall off. There isnt much for mounting hardware except for a metric nut and washer and 2 little pieces of metal that are a big pain in the ass and you dont need it. Even the inside of the casting looks rough on the Injen intake.....just like yours.

If I were you...I would just leave it alone and install it. An ebay intake is going to work the same as an Injen intake. There isnt anything special to it at all. If you were supposed to get the filter, I would probably complain about not getting it, but thats about it.

He responded to my Txt right away. Said he is sorry and he sent the wrong one. Apparently had them both in seprate USPS boxes ready to go.

Im very understanding, so I said its cool as long as he sends me the legit one before I send the cheap one back. I think thats only fair.

I still have faith in DSMTuners...

He is a total SCAMMER!

What should we do? Any mods want to have his info and ban his ass?

Im already reporting it to Paypal, but its been so long im sure he has taken the money out and they wont refund anything once its been withdrawn.

We just need to ban and block this kid from here.

I was ripped off for $80. The other guy was taken for $225. Worse is that he never recieved anything, I atleast recieved a cheap ebay rip off.

He had no feedbacks, Guess I know better then to trust someone with zero feedbacks. But hey that just makes it harder for anyone who tries to start selling items.

go to the classifieds and search intake... you will see the ad just look for that picture that was posted

I have messaged this seller twice in the past week or so about that intake and he hasn't responded to any of my pm's. now it makes sense I would imagine he doesn't want to rip me off since I am less than 2 hours away from him.
