walbro fuel pump

Hello guys, I have a 225 walbro but want the 255, my buddy has a 91 tsi awd with the 255 walbro, and I have a 98 gsx, my question is will I be able to take mine off and just bolt on the 255? and same goes to the tsi. Do 1st gens and 2nd gens have different fuel pump bolt on patterns or anything else different? I wanna know before we take them apart and find out it cant work, thanks.

It can be done, but it's not designed to work as the filter is oriented in a different direction (1g and 2g are in opposite directions).
