Walbro 255 capabilities

So I've heard that the 255 is good for up to 500whp usually. I have had the pump rewired with the STM kit, so I am wondering is it possible to get more out of this pump than 500whp with the rewire? How many volts does it have to run to be safe for this much power?

you may get away with more voltage, but you could just get another 255 and run duals and have them last a very long time.

500hp is more than many people on this board will achieve. Keep this setup until you reach it's limits like it leaning out in the upper rpm range with 13-14v. Then it's time for another pump.

A rewired 255hp should suffice on gasoline.

I went 11.1 @ 129mph on a single 255 on e85 in a 3150lb car. It was just starting to lean out a little bit up top and IDC's were quite high trying to compensate...

That's awesome! I'll be running 93 pump gas is the reason why with no meth. E85 isn't as plentiful around here, so that's out of the question. I know if I run meth, I think I would be just fine running above 500 with the 255

IMHO I think if your really trying for 500 there is no reason not to do dual wallies, Cause when you tune everything is all gravy, but if your fuel system drops off in performance or your voltage drops you could end up with aluminum bits on your spark plugs..... . Worst thing that will happen is you will overrun your return line.. my $0.02

I have been there, every step of the way I have underestimated my power troll's needs, and the power troll keeps telling me to make more pony's and I end up buying crap twice. I am going to buy my third set of injectors for example then I am freegin done . 2050's. Just get it out of the way if you have the bucks
