like the title says i want to get a front mount for my daily driven 2g i dont need a super large intercooler so i will save myself 300+ dollars and put it else where into the car so i am looking at either getting a vrsf intercooler or a punishment racing. all feed back is welcome as long as it not stuff like " just get a ets kit " and so on. both kits have there ups and downs but i need to buy with in the next 72 hours.

i vote PR from a good vendor, who will get it to you in an orderly fashion..

Good luck in trying to get the vrsf before the end of summer..

2G kits are in stock & ready to ship :)

If you want a short route option, the VRSF kit is the way to go, if you want a smaller core but don't want to cut a small triangle section out of the radiator support (10 minute mod with the right tools) get the PR.

Can't speak for PR's intercoolers in terms of power but here's our intercooler before and after vs a similar sized competitors intercooler. The difference is in the core itself (external/internal fin pack design and density). No other mods done, just the intercooler. 28whp gain, 30whtq gain with a bit of an increase in spool @ about .5 psi less. Less boost, more power.

Tiago...for the longest time I have wanted a picture of your internal fin density, is there anyway to get this?

The punishment racing is not on back order and is easier to install and you get to keep your fogs.

The PR kit will allow you to keep fog lights on a 2gb Eclipse, but not a 2ga Talon or Eclipse.

Buy an intercooler & cut the end tank off ;)

We have these manufactured for us, I can try to get a pic next time they are in production.

I would love that picture, that literally is the only thing holding me back from clicking the buy it button, I need something ridiculously efficient since I want to do some pump gas runs.

What turbo are you running? Might wanna try meth or E85 if you're looking for ultimate cooling/knock resistance :)

ya i have the PR kit, no offense mangina, i didnt know which way i wanted to go but ended up literaly flipping a coin to decide. I am running 20 psi on the PR kit on a fp green on 92 pump and still see knock with very low timing. Then again i am on a 9.0:1 compression 2.4l with stock head so there are some limitations. I will be needing to go with some meth injection soon to get me to where i want to be! Either kit will get it done for you. Both are the best values around for intercoolers and have awesome reviews. Do what i did and flip a coin!

I have the VRSF kit, and love it. Not only does it fit nicely with my 2GA bumper, but just looks so aggressive. And I had no intentions on keeping my fog's, so that was not an issue. My vote is the VRSF kit.

The dyno numbers provided prove that the kits aren't really equal in terms of power. ;)

Shorter routing, less bends (each bend creates friction & heat) and a more efficient, engineered core (internal/external fin pack design) are what create a more efficient intercooler.

That dyno @ 412whp had no knock while using a less efficient hahn 20g turbo running 1 psi more. That makes for hotter turbo outlet temps and fantastic knock control.

9.0:1 compression is the standard these days, all the Evo's we build run it and don't have a problem with proper tuning :thumb:

I think more of your knock issues are with the stock head/restrictions on a 2.4l bottom end. If you opened up the top end, even with a smaller set of cams you might open it up and lesson the knock counts. Your quench area is probably the culprit of 90% of it. The meth kit will only band-aid a bigger issue. Your dyno numbers reflect that. Car is choking badly.

haha dyno was on the old ebay 16g and a knock sensor that wasnt threaded in properly. Im currently making just over 400 hp through link but im running a mix of a couple gallons of e85 with my gas to limit some of that knock. Im going to be ordering either meth or fp2's relatively soon. Mangina would you agree the head and stock cams are my limitation and why im getting knock on 92 pump with 20-23 psi?

Some cams will definitely free up some power & help with your knock issue. A ported head would be on my mod list as well.

I'd love to say swapping to a VRSF fmic would solve your problem but you have a couple other bottlenecks to work out first. I'd go with a set of GSC S1's. Hit me up if you're looking for a deal. :)

I dont have that vertical bar in front of the radiator under the hood latch (wasnt there when i bought the car), can I or how hard will it be to mount the vrsf fmic? Aslo I sent you a pm about your fmic MaNGiNa24 a few days ago idk if you got it..

Won't need that bar. My kit mounted only on the sides. Be sure to get some m6x1.0 bolts in the 50mm flavor to bolt to the foglight holes

To mount my vrsf front mount, I just used the supplied bolts and drilled the foglight holes out. It would have been easier to buy the right size bolts though.
