Hi guys - recently put hooked up a safc to my vpc setup. Idles 100x better! I have it set in karmen with just the air flow in/out portion wired in (not the pressure sensor wires but into the VPC's blue signal wire). Should I leave it in karmen or cut the pressure wires from the AFC into the VPC wire and unhook the AFC wires from the air flow info going to the ECU? In a WOT pull, the VPC adds extra fuel when MAP increases, so running lean is not a problem. Also, if AFC is set in pressure (assuming I wired it in this way), which value would I choose (I assume MAP values?)?

Thanks much

It's been too many years since i've set one up like that, but if i remember right there's info about it linked off one of the 3 oldschool DSM shop's websites.. either hunt through RRE, Buschur and Extreme's sites or try googling it. I know i found the info on the 'net years ago when i first started playing with that combo on a friends car.

I'm pretty sure it was either Extreme or Buschur that had the info on doing it, but it was linked off their site to some one's personal site.

I know that my reply isn't really "help" i'm just trying to give you a palce to look for better info on it than i could give by memory.

Run it in the Karman mode (opposite from what SAFC directionis tell you to do). VPC is very good at faking the MAF signal, so you do not want to screw around with what VPC sees ;).

Right on! - Thanks much. Can I trust/use airflow values or is this not very reliable with a VPC since it alters what ECU sees (for datalogger, and AFC doesnt give usable airflow values does it?) Is there any way to monitor airflow with a VPC setup?
