ECMlink Viewing link logs

How do I view other peoples logs on my computers, I have V3 installed on both my laptop and desktop, I've never tryed viewing a log with my laptop b/c I don't want to go online with it to risk infection, but when I try to view other peoples logs from my desktop I get a windows message, save or view? I chose view and open with ECMlink but it does not work, and how can I transfew my logs from my laptop to my desktop?

If the logs are .elg files, V3 is the application you need to view them. If they are .dat files, you need V2. You can't view one file with the other application.

To transfer logs - a thumb drive would be the easiest way if you don't want to put the laptop online.

Sorry but I can't get it to work here is what window shows up

when I click on the log that I want to view a window shows up that says.

Find....Save...Cancel

when I click find it brings up explorer, save I have to download the file to somewhere, and of course cancel

If I have to save the file first to view it where does it need to be saved? the ECMlink folder has no obvious place to put it.

Sounds like you might not have the software installed fully/properly.

Could you take a few screenshots of the process to show me exactly what you're seeing?

N/P I installed it off of the disk the same way I done my laptop.

You need V2 to open those files (see the .dat extension?).

thanks man, this was confusing the hell outa me, I guess V3 is still fairly new and most people are still on the older version.
