ECMlink First logs new to dsm link

well right now im only runing 5 pounds of boost because im scared of turning it up. I dont know how to tune. And I dont know what the reason for my motor spinning a rod bearing last time so I am being real cautious. I dont want to replace another motor right now. Money is really tight

I'm not sure how you're running 5 lbs of boost. But if you're really that scared to even touch the car, then find a local shop and tow it there.

But you'll be fine to drive it as long as you leave DSMlink alone (at least the timing and fuel sliders) until you get a wideband.

I know how you feel because you don't want to blow your engine up, but dsmlink is not as complicated as it sounds so no worries, but before you do anything major do these things:
1) get a front o2 sensor ASAP, because it is the brain of your a/f ratio readings for your car, without it you cant tune. 2) plug in your laptop to your ecu and turn the car on and let it idle, in the mean time open dsmlink and just get a reading while the car is idling, so you can get an idea what it looks like with the car being on and everything (you can rev your engine if you want to see the numbers and the graph change). 3) After you figure out where everything is start playing with the basics such as setting up your idle rpm(do different numbers just for the heck of it so you can see the change), set up you studder box, set up your tps, change the injector option from 450cc to whatever you got in the car now, set up you stock boost gauge to be your voltage meter or whatever you want to do, just keep it simple and get used to this basic stuff before dealing with the bigger things. 4) after you have somehow mastered this things and hopefully discovered other things, try to figure out how to set up your fuel global and you can find that out by seaching (the best place to learn for dsmlink is the dsmlink forum), for example for 650cc the global is -30%.

Thats as much as i can help before getting to tiny details but like i said the best place to learn is the dsmlink forum, so i hope i helped a little bit.

Same here. Snowboarder has been really helpful! Will post my log soon here, just fixing boost leaks, etc.
