just kinda in a hurry to make this purchase. Alright
Does it make a difference if the 2g exhaust manifold Im picking up is being pulled off an automatic 95 talon?

I plan to place it in my 1g manual Talon Tsi AWD.

Will it work?

ANd thanks alot to this forum, you all have really helped me get this car on the road.

Yes it will work, the manifolds between the AWD/FWD/AT/MT are all the same from the 2g's.

Sweet thanks a lot gofer.
Another question, although take your sweet time on this one people, no hurry at all.

I plan to get this thing ported, how much should I port it to get the best efficiency and performance.

Note**** Im sticking with the 14b and I dont plan to port that.

About 1cm if i'm correct?
but if your getting your mani ported why not get the 14b ported as well
it'll flow alot better if you do both and have them ported the same
a ported 14b will last you a while unless your planning on upgrading your turbo

Good news is I got the Manifold!! Its in pretty good shape too.

I guess how much I decide to port it should also reflect my goals right?
Not really trying to make it the fastest thing around town, jus looking for some moderate power gains for my daily driver.

Guess Im shooting for 250Hp, ### its gonna be a daily driver for awhile.(Like 3-? years) And my goal is a reliable daily driver that can hold its own against popular cars like stock mustangs and civics, etc.

Should The mani really be ported to match the gasket? Kinda seems like overkill.
I was thinking half that.

### the gaskets im using are a 1g felpro gasket for the 4 runners, and a 6cm multilayered oem style gasket for the mani to turbo collector.

You don't want to port the runners on the exhaust manifold, just the collector where it bolts up to the hotside of the turbo.

Refer to these links for questions about doing the porting, since you have EVERYTHING off you might as well do it the right way the first time...

-Turbo Porting
-Exhaust Manifold Porting
-O2 Housing Porting

If you do decide to port this stuff you'll want to get the Evo III 7cm exhaust mani to turbo gasket and just port everything to the size of the gasket. After I got setup to port everything I put the 7cm gasket on the collector of the manifold and outlined what I had to port with a permanent marker. That way you won't cut up your gasket and you'll have both hands to control the die grinder while your doing it. Be sure to wear EYE PROTECTION, A DUST SHIELD OVER YOUR MOUTH, & GLOVES!!!! You'll be hating life if you forget any ONE of those things...

Sweet, well the links helped me out a lot to understand what most people do. However do I port that step out in the collector even if I dont port the turbo?

Most definitely NOT. If your not going to port the turbo don't bother doing the manifold. If you do you'll cause unwanted turbulance in your exhaust which could cause poor turbo spool and possibly boost creep.

Since your already taking off the exhaust manifold you've already got the hotside of the turbo halfway off so you might as well do it. You don't have to remove the ENTIRE turbo to port the hotside. Just get a 10mm socket and remove the c-clamp holding the hotside to the CHRA (center housing rotating assembly) then the two 19mm (or 17mm can't remember) bolts that mount the downpipe to the o2 housing. While being careful, slide the hotside and o2 housing towards your driverside fender and off the turbine wheel. EASY DAY! If you do this you won't have to drain any oil or drop any coolant, the j-pipe/oil drain will support the weight of the 14b which isn't a lot since you've got the heavy part of it removed.
