Batman, why are you venting to the atmosphere? Is it because you BOV dosen't route back to your intake, if so why did you buy it? I'm just curious because you seem to be the biggest advocate of non atomshphere venters, or do you just like the "cool" sound?

When you have a car that sees rare street use and you don't lift to shift at the track it really doesn't fu@king matter what you do with your BOV. I have the TiAL to hold high boost but still blow off when the throttle is shut after a no lift drag run. And no, it cannot be routed back to the intake.

When you have a racecar that has no exhaust, 850cc/min injectors, a huge fu@king turbo, a huge front mount and weighs 2800lbs you can vent your BOV to the atmosphere too. Until then, you should shut your mouth and recirculate your BOV.

I shall bow down to the almighty Batman:rolleyes: Get real, you aren't as cool as you try and make yourself sound on forums. And by the way my questions where all real questions, I wasn't trying to mock you but you must be pretty up tight if you have to jump to your deffense so quickly.

Well you did accuse me of doing something because "I like the sound" when I have clearly stated that the TiAL doesn't sound all that great because it's so stiff. That's why I thought you were mocking me, because you made a comment like that when I had already said it was not the case. How was I supposed to know you did not completely read my entire post? If you had read my post you would have known what I thought about the sound and you would not have made what I thought was a condescending remark. And you'll notice I addressed all your questions without calling you an "a$$hole" or "stupid fu@k" like I wanted to. Since it was all a misunderstanding, I forgive you.

And actually I am twice as cool as I make myself out to be. And by "cool" I mean "totally sweet."

love to see this thread still alive, it's been a long time since I posted here... but I think batman has things pretty well covered. Oh, Off topic here, but hey batman, I just went out to denver on july3 for 2 weeks to visit my bro, and damn it's a beautiful state!! I am trying to get stationed at frt. carson.

I am running a TurboXS bov and i vent to the atmosphere without any mods to mas or bov and have not a bit of hesitation at anytime idling, low, mid range... all good.

yeah me to :D

I think threads like that should be at the Hang-out forum....It's just too damn funny to read all the 'BOV Drama'....

Just so you know where I'm comming from:
my 1G whooshes loud and clear without venting to the ATM...
Is it as loud as BOV ? Not exactly. Does it still sound 100000 times better then Tegs' or Civics' exhaust rumble? Yessssssssss

(and to avoid turning this thread into defending or flaming Honda's, I own an '88 accord with 244K miles on it....No major repairs whatsoever !, so I like it for brilliantly performing its purpose)

Batman: On one hand it seems like you take all the venters too personally, but on the other hand, I understand your reasoning soooo well.... after sooo may postings about individuality of the results, it almost hurts to see another person post "Well I do it and it works fine..."

Well anyway....It's all good as long as it's fun... right ?

P.S.: And I don't feel ANY lack of chicks (even though personally, I'm not crazy about using car as bait. If a girl 'goes' for a car, next thing she's 'going' for is your wallet. With the exception of the gear-head girls which we are lucky to have on this site. My regards to them)...:D

well i just got done reading all the coments on venting and it seems to me no one is changeing anyones views on venting ...is there loss of power ? maybe, does it cause you to run alittle rich? Sure but so does but so do other mods with out tuning. personal ill give up 1 to 3 hp for some bad A$$ sound thats just my .02 cents =0)

I vented my bov and the car runs fine and sounds awesome. I put a tiny filter on the end of the bov return tube instead of blocking it off.

to the two posters above:

It's not just 1-3hp, it's your whole throttle response when you get back into the gas after a shift. It's more like 2-3 10ths in the 1/4th mile. Giving up 2-3 10ths in the 1/4th mile for a sound is so rice it's not even funny.

And calling the sound of a BOV venting to the atmosphere, "bad a$$" is also rice. It's a "pshhhhhh" sound. The only reason people think it's cool is because stupid riceboys know that turbo cars make that sound. It's all a peception thing. If it was the sound that a 90hp Honda made all you riceboys would be trying to somehow conceal the sound.

Also, you can hear the sound without venting it, if you have a K&N with no airbox/can and no silencer it's just as loud. Of course none of you guys would know that because you are all ricers and probably vented your BOVs to the atmosphere as your first mods.

batman, what are u so angry about? my car runs great, i like the sound, and i can reconnect my tube in about 15 sec. if i wanted to . So thank you for your opinion but we've heard enough about why it is "bad". it works good for me and others so why don't you worry about your own car, we like it!

Wait a sec. Do you mean you put the filter on the end of the return tube as it comes out of the BOV or is the filter in the intake tube? Is the intake tube blocked or open?

I think he means the intake tube. This has a hacked MAS effect.

I hope you put a potentiometer on your thermistor. Of course I wouldn't expect a riceboy to know what I am talking about.

u know what batboy, your right. maybe i am a rice boy. i am a rice boy because i like the sound of my turbo? hmmm. i mean, he has to be right, right? nobody knows more than the great batboy. so if i am a riceboy to you thats ok, i could give a f**k what you think. again, thanks 4 your opinion.

Oh, so you are advertising the fact that you have a turbo... Who are you trying to impress?

The air brakes on a bus make the same sound only louder. You should get a bus. You would like that.
