Venting to the atmosphere?

again batman, you are right. why have u taken such a personal interest in what i want to do to my car?

I take a personal interest in people telling others that something that is wrong is ok. New people may interperet "it works fine" as meaning it's the right thing to do. It just isn't.

My friend drove from LA to Las Vegas in the summer with no oil in his car, it worked fine.

ok, I know it takes a small amount of power, but you make it seem much worse, is there something bad happening to my motor i don't know about because of my bov being vented?

Probably nothing will happen to your motor unless some debris gets in through the BOV somehow. That's not the point. The point is that it's wrong. Some people, like yourself like the sound. If there is a new person who likes the sound but isn't sure if he should do it, I want him to know that it's wrong. Then he can make an educated choice. With you in here saying that it, "works fine," they may assume it's the "right" thing to do and make an uneducated choice.

Vent your BOV to the atmosphere all you want, just don't talk about it. If you do talk about it I am going to do whatever I can to make you look wrong because you are. This is nothing personal against you, it's just to help others know that you are wrong and doing something wrong to your car.

ok i know everyone says not to vent to tha atmosphere but i did and now am having problems with it opening around 5000 rpm what is a worse case scenerio with running external bov can it cause lasting damage ive tried to adjust the spring and have no problems at WOT only at partial throttle nad only at around 5000 rpm lower rpm work fine its an apex-i bov and i run a ball and spring MBC with a bleeder hole could this be an issue

This is why I hate the new breed of DSMers. I read that and I lose all hope. If you are having problems why don't you put it back the way it was? It's basic trouble shooting skills, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out.

Here is the worse case scenario: you own a DSM and are allowed on the internet.

I can't believe that there is no punctuation and no capitals except for WOT and MBC in that huge run-on sentence.

You jerks should really relax, this is not world politics. It's a God damn blow off valve discussion, GET A LIFE. if he wants to vent, its his choice. Come off it, I guess this is what happens when you live in the middle of nowhere. Have no life, and all there is to do is flame dsm owners on the internet

Yes.

Buy a hose. Clamp it to the end of the blitz BOV and clamp the other end onto the BOV dumptube on the intake.

How can I put air brakes on my Eclipse?

I took someone elses bad advice and got the greddy type-s bov with the injen intake, which has no hook up for the dump tube, is there an aftermarket intake with the dump tube which I can vent the greddy bov to or is it better to just get a different bov.
Another stupid question but are the threads inside the bov where it vents there for a reason?

alright u guys have been arguing this bow for a couple of months im new to htis site but i read all of them so i got a question. and none of you answerd it yet and the question is what this descusion was about .

WHAT IS THE LOUDEST BLOW-OFF VALVE!!!!!!

i just wanted to know if you vent back to the intake do you loose that great sound the greddy bov makes???
