does anyone know if a venom programmer is a viable option? I am almost at the point of needing to control my air and fuel ratios and wanted to know if the venom programmer is something that is plug in play. Anyone have any experience with this item

Hey another DSMer from Pensacola! Born and raised there!

A viable option will ultimately depend on your future goals. I'm sorry I can't give any personal experience using the Venom, but from what I see it looks fairly limited as far as tuning. It looks like it will adjust your air/fuel automatically based on manifold pressure? If you don't need the flexibility it may work...however if you run into issues I'm not sure how much support you would get. SAFC, MAFTpro, flashed ECU and ofcourse ECMLink are some other options to consider. All great tools.

What makes you consider the Venom over other options---is it the pricepoint?

To get the most out of your power you would also want to adjust your ignition timing. I would suggest a standalone over a piggy back in most cases. More often than not, you will want more out of your tuning application and a piggy back just isn't the best tool for that.
