When you modify the air signal to the ecu i.e. with safc or such, if you add more fuel or tell the ecu you have more air what does the timing do? add or subtract.

Is there a way to modify the timing on a 1g short of a stand alone or turning back the cas.

greddy emanage and buy the ignition harness and you can adjust timing as well. I have the harness and I'm not using it if you pick one up ill sell it to you.

the SAFC works by fooling your ECU into seeing more or less airflow.
the display on the screen that you read is how much fuel you are adding or taking out and the SAFC controls the air flow signal by that.

If you add more fuel with a piggy back it usually retards the timing. If you decrease fuel (compensating for larger injectrors) it usually advances the timing.

You could use a chip or Dsmlink in an Eprom to play with timing.

If your looking for cheaper go greddy emanage. If your wanting to spend more but know go full blown stand alone i'd say dsmlink is the next best thing to full stand alone. Emanage Ultimate looks pretty phat also i saw that it has wideband tracking and you can put what afr you want and it will automaticly tune your car for you to run that afr. It makes me happy. LOL The basic emanage is cheap and effective though. Dsmlink you will have to buy an eprom ecu if you dont already have one and same with the chips.

What does Emanage cost with the options required to change ignition timing? I thought it was near $500.

Thanks for the input. I just finished a class in efi performance tuning and was just curious how some of the piggybacks work as they are not discussed, I can tune a stand alone in my sleep now. I run an aem in my car.
