Valves advice

Hello guys. I just found out that my valve seals are bad. Should I just replace the seals. Or should I rebuild my engine head? If so what brands and how much money am I look at to do so? I have access to the tools to rebuild it. Although I do not really want to. I would like to hear your guys advice. Or should I redo my block well I am there.
My car is 92 Talon TSI FWD TOTALLY STOCK. Minus my clutch. Which is rated up to 450HP.

valve seals are dirt cheap,depends on your budget, but to replace them, i would be leaning more towards a new timing belt and water pump, etc...since you are going to be taking the belt off anyway. depends on the last time you did it, if it was recent then i would just do the seals and some 3g revised lifters(to stop the lifter tick). how many miles are on it?

My whole car has 130K on it. I have lifters already because the lifter tick is driving me insane but the lifters are just stock. I don't know if anything has been done. When the belt has been done or anything. What kind of valves? Do I have to take the valves out to replace the seals. I purchased a full gasket kit that has pretty much every seal in the whole car. I have never rebuilt a head. Just a block before.

No you don't need to remove the valves to replace the valve stem seals, but you will have to remove the valve springs and retainers. Just be careful not to drop a valve, otherwise you'll have to take the head off.

good point, they have adaptor's that you can thread into the spark plug hole to charge the cylinder with pressure to hold the valves in place.

Or you could just take the spark plug out and jam a small diameter rope inside. That would keep the valves in place.

I would recommend the Blue viton stem seals, the have a higer operating temp, and seem to last the best before you get them crispy.

Another problem has arisen. I have extremely rough idle. And when my clutch is in the rpms are higher than not. By like 200. Any suggestions in what went wrong. What do I need to replace? Tuning or engine problem? Please help!

check for vacuume leaks.. if thats good. do a compression and leak down test

I am not sure how to perform a leak down test. Is there directions somewhere to do that. Thanks.
