Hey Fellow Dsmer's

I Have situation and i need some advice & guidance:

So like 2 weeks ago i was connecting some vaccum lines with a T on my car to fix and idling fault and get the car to run properly, as i was tweaking with those, one part of a hose touched the intake cam sensor and it got rolled on it and destroyed the cam sensor.. i payed no much attention to were the tee fell of as i only recovered the hose and i thought the t fell under the car.. or on the floor (Big Mistake :ohdamn:) So without dismounting the bottom timing belt area to see if the damn "tee" is there i mount the sensor (using the miller tool) and boom the car works fine again. the funny thing is that i have used it a dozen times floored it, did some pulls etc. but the damn "tee" never fell off.

So like a week ago coming back from a friends amateur photo shoot i was cruising back home and the car made a f-ing loud cranking noise and turned off. luckly it got enough speed so i can pull into an entrance and not on the middle of the road. well the car doesn't start did a few tests checked if it had broken the (cam or crank sensors) but the car had spark.. anyway i couldn't find the problem but the car had a weird starting noise. the car had the timing belt on it had no missing tooth or nothing. so i tow the car back home.

So the next afternoon i go to wrench it with my dad to see what happened.. we realized it was out of timing, but when we are going to put the timing, we notice that the intake cam gear spins freely and has no force.. we take the valve cover off and notice that the 8 INTAKE CAM ROCKER ARMS are off and laying around the head. with that i've said H*ly Sh*t i've think i've bent some valves.
It's Weird because most of the times things get into the timing belt it loses some teeth but mine didn't so anyway today i've dismounted most of it but when i am ready to take the head off i noticed that the head stud key that i have doesn't fit.. Anyway I Have Lots Of Questions..

1. What Socket do i need for the stock head bolt removal?
2. I understand that the stock headbolts cannot be reused right?
3. What Valves Do You Recomend? Autopart Generic,OEM,Manley (Im aiming @ ferrea)
4. Im planning on installing and cometic hg? opinions and reviews about it would be good)
5. Also do i need any special procedures to install it aside from copper spray (after both surfaces have been properly smoothed & cleaned)?
6. Arp Head Studs Proper Instalation Tips Or Suggestions?

7. Any tips of procedure suggestions would be greatly appreciated

8. Also If Some one can tell which socket to use for the stock head bolts would be awesome because the most i need right now is that so i can take the head off and look @ the damage, to see if i really bent some valves or if it's something worse

I Know what i did was hell of a noobness but i can't go back in time to prevent it plus, winding about it won't fix it, but from mistakes is were we learn.. right now i just want to get the knowledge to do this once and right although it may take some time :)

Thanks In Advance.... B2GDSM

1. Personally I found an allen wrench that fit the head bolts and cut it and found a socket to grab the allen wrench.
2. I wouldn't re use them. Put ARP head studs in that thing.
3. Ferrea makes good valves, but do your research. Look at pro's and con's and decide from there
4. Cometic makes a good HG. I've run Felpro from advance auto with head studs at 28psi. your choice. whatever you go with, prep is key. clean flat surfaces.
5. I don't use copper spray, but it's up to you.
6. arp install- Make sure all stud holes are clean and dry!!! use the arp moly lube but not too much. Bottom the studs out and back them off about a half turn or so. torque to spec. in stages.

7. While you got the head off do the oil mod (don't feel like finding the link, someone help me out.)
It enlarges the area that oil can flow into your head. do it!!

Its really not that big of a deal to do what your doing. make a tool to pull the springs off with, and pull the valves and guides. There's a really nice kit on ebay with 16 SS valves 16 bronze guides and 16 revised 3G lifters. 200 bucks. not bad at all.

and if your pistons are cracked or you smashed some ring races build your bottom end.

LOL

hope this helps

Ok I'll Check If I Have Something Available On My Toolbox... Doesn't Like A Special Tool Exists For This ? Just Curiosity.. Don't Wanna Buy It Because It's Gotta Be Expensive!

Also What i've said on the complete post was preliminary since i don't know the damage or the performance of the mentioned parts have given to other members here on the forums.

Thanks Sharing The Knowledge :)

they are 12mm 12 points go to sears and buy a 12mm 12point shallow impact socket and use an extension i say use a shallow impact because shallow is alot stronger and impact sockets are really hard to brake so you cant hurt the thing and yes all of the stock bolts look like that
