What is the difference/purpose of the valve lock which i know holds the spring/retainer to the valve and the valve seat locator.

Reason i need to know is that I bought manley 1mm over valves and a complete manley valvetrain and i need valve locks, the manley versions of these are on back order everywhere for another week or 2, so I was wondering if any other valve lock or locator WTF will work with the manley valves/springs and retainers.

They are 23125-16 valves and it says that i need 13016 locks, maybe this will help.

Ferrea makes them for my car for 6.5mm part # K10035, but will they work with manley 1mm over valves also?

Wisemen Welcome Here!!!

I have a 96 Eclipse GST

I don't know that I've heard the term, "valve seat locator" before. That'd be the spotfacing in the cylinder head, in the combustion chamber, that the seat would press into. I'd think.

I don't know about on Shep's level, but down here on Earth DSMs aren't known to be keeper-spitters that I've heard about. The valvetrain is very well-behaved, and the stock roller rockers are a fairly advanced feature. So long as your valve maker hasn't done something perverse with their keeper grooves that forces you to use only their keepers, I can't think of why it'd matter. Isn't the stem size still stock? The 1mm over refers to the seat diameter.

hahaha, yea i have never heard of the term either, thats why i asked, yea i talked to a mech @ horsepowerfreaks and he said to save my money and just go with Mitsubishi replacements, which I did.

Couldn't wait any longer for the Manley titanium locks cause i have waited three weeks for them and they have another week and a half to go, and i need to get my head done and put on and need to tune the car with new fuel and turbo set up before college starts back up here in like 2 1/2 weeks.

thks for your help.
