ok so the other day i gently slid into a curb and bent my fmic bracket and pushed the coupler into the alternater..so after i pulled the bracket out and go everything straight ive been driving around and before this all happend i was getting about 18lbs of vaccum (thru the boost gauge) and now its reading 22lbs at idle.. doesnt drive any different so i dont think a blt would do anything. is this bad?

I don't fully understand what you're trying to say, because vacuum at idle isn't measured in psi. If your idle is effected, then there is some kind of leak somewhere. Did the intercooler get damaged at all?

the intercooler is fine. its a little twisted but no fins are damaged and everything is back in place. the car itself doesnt run any different. i just wanted to know why i would be getting more vacuum and if it was bad. i lack knowledge about vacuum haha

If it isn't running bad, then maybe you had a small leak before and now you have it fixed.

Do a boost leak test if you are questioning you vacuum.

You can still boost fully with leaks but your turbo will work harder to achieve the said boost pressure.

see i thought so too it almost seems like i spool faster too. could be a figment of my imagination haha. but it does kinda jerk hard when i let off hard boost.. it did this when i got the car because the bov recirc hose was disconnected. and i checked all the hose clamps and couplers but theyre all tight. i dont think its any big deal i just didnt want to ignore the change

i never knew that LiQuIdx.. i thought that it wouldnt be able to get to full boost with a leak. i guess it wont hurt to do the test so ill try that out. thanks

A PROPER boost leak test is always good to do. I could build 13psi with an unattached coupler with my HX40 (clamp wasn't tightened at all). Assumptions are worse than testing for fact.

alright. ill test it. but correct me if im wrong but would it pull more vacuum if i had a leak somewhere or does it make no difference?

i know im making this harder than it has to be, i apologize
