Ask Me,
Virginia
I am building my Laser as a fuel efficient fun daily driver. It came with a stock head and Crower 272's (Stage 2 p/n 64413-2). Not BC 272's, Crower 272's. I am going to put the biggest stock cams available in there and take the Crower 272's and put them in my Galant VR-4.
I am not sure if the GVR-4 head is modded, but I am fairly sure that it is going to be stock.
Is there anything that I have to worry about when putting these used cams in my engine? They have been cleaned up and oiled. They are stored away in some industrial cling wrap for now. No visible/major wear noted.
This isn't a question as to how to install these cams in the GVR-4, although installation tips are welcome. I just want to make sure that I am not overlooking anything.
For starters, can I use the same cam caps that are on the GVR-4 head or do I have to use the cam caps on the Laser where the cams came from?
Thanks!
