I live in Canada and need daytime running lights for my 97 Talon. Do the US models have daytime running lights? If not could some one suggest a place to look besides the junkyard (no 2G's).

My US 95 Talon TSI does not have Daytime Running Lights (DRL). There was a post on here a bit ago about someone retrofitting their car to use the canadian DRL board from a canadian model and rewiring their headlights. Let me search...

Hmm, can't find it. Here's someone fixing their DRL:

It seems like you just want the lights to be on when the car is on, right? Could you just do that with some relays, or hardwire the lights to be on? I don't know how strict the canadian inspections are on this kind of thing.

American cars didn't have DRLs until GM conned Congress (1992?) into changing the laws so they'd no longer have to bear the expense of building separate lighting systems between here and there. No American DSMs had DRLs, and the world was a better place for it. That light's not free, it's costing you some gas.
