transmission model???

I bought a transmission for my 90 gsx and was told it fit 90-94 eclipse/talons. I know that when switching transmissions between the years you need to change the shifter mounts and things like that but my question is what model did the tranny I bought come out of. The number on the tranny is W5m332WNXL. I have found info on other models with a number close to this one but so far have had no luck. I am beginning to wonder if I have a transmission that will even fit my car. Please post any info you have. Thanks

hey i called the dealer and they show that your tranny code is correct but... the gear ratios may the off because it has the last 4 letters as being different. if you do use that tranny make sure you also have the right transfer case. those gear ratios also have to match or the transmission will break or it may cause the rear end to burn up. call John Shepherd. here is his link. www.sheptrans.com

The transmission actually came with the transfercase on it. Is there still a risk of the gear ratios being off? I will call them later today when I get some free time. Thanks for the help

you should be ok but you should still call john shepherd and ask him some questions just to be sure. it should be right if its from the same year but mitsubishi does a lot of mid year changes and their is no real way to tell if that was one of them. later.
