fwd transmission model number confusion

I bought a used 99 GST transmission from a friend that needs a rebuild. I was looking over it the other day to figure out what sensors I need to replace and I needed to find out the model number on the transmission so I could get the proper rebuild kit for it. The bell housing says F5M33, which is what it should. However the transmission case has F5M31 stamped on it which is the transmission that is supposed to be in my galant. So I then looked over my Galant and found that instead of F5M31, it says F5M30. I am horribly confused.... and since I'm still probationary, I can't really get the info I need from the proper section of the forum. Can someone help me out here?

What year is your Galant? What is the full serial code on that transmission?

Like you said, F5M33-2-SPZT would be correct for the 99 GST. The 2G GST transmission case does have F5M31 markings on it but the only one that matters is the one on the bellhousing.
