When i was taking out my steering knuckle, i unbolted the upper ball joint. The ball joint was fine before i unbolted the upper ball joint nut but now i cant get the nut to tighten up. Does the ball joint have to be pressed? Even if its still good?

The ball joint "bolt" is a press-in fit. It is accomplished while tightening the nut, however, you will have to hold the "bolt" stationary while tightening the nut, otherwise the "bolt" will just spin thus NOT allowing the nut to tighten..

I usually use a pair of channel-locs to apply pressure to the top side of the ball joint so the "bolt" binds up on the knuckle while tightening the nut in order to get the ball joint "bolt" somewhat seated, then tighten the nut to specs.
