Ok im in the middle of doing my driver side upper ball joint replacement and when i put the new ball joint in...is it suppose to just slide right in into the upper arm? and what is the C-clip for? m afraid when i pressed it out of the arm i enlarged the hole somewhat

The front drivers side. I talked to the guy at napa and he said i may of done it wrong and it put a slight taper on the hole it self so now the ball joint doesnt need to be pressed in it just falls right in and i know to me that it didnt seem right that the ball joint just slides in with no problem. Its been awhile since i did my front passenger ball joint and im sure i screwed it up.

Its hard to explain without any pictures its too late for me to take any pictures and my digi cam is messed up right now. I just bought a new upper suspension arm with a new ball joint in. But what i was trying to say is that i basically pressed the ball joint out wrong and im thinking the little c-clip inside got caught on the collar while the ball joint was coming out and it enlarged the base where the ball joint sits so the thing just goes in without being pressed in....i was wondering if that was normal because its been so long since i did my passenger front side ball joint, but i dont think thats right at all......oh well....add one more problem to the list today

i got it from Napa where i got all my other suspension parts (atleast the stock stuff) and im sure it was my wrong doing that caused this but oh well..its whatever..my car hasnt been running for 5months now ### of a motor rebuild and some other odds and ends to fix...so whats another couple of days huh

ehh its just fustrating ya know? i have all my friends wondering when my car is going to be done and why is it taking so long and all this stupid stuff....kinda gets to me a little bit..sure it WAS my daily driver but i just want my damn car back on the road already LOL

Did you remove the circlip with circlip pliers before you pressed the balljoint out? If not, you most likely did enlarge the hole. It does sound like, whatever the cause, the upper arm is no kinda trashed.

Cheapies can be had online, and I've got no evidence that they will wreck your car. But if you prefer OEM equipment check out JNZ, a vendor here, for new arms.

yea i foudn a new oem one already, but to answer your question - i didnt remove the clip and i think thats where i screwed up and like i said before its been awhile since i did my passenger side front ball joint so ill just add this to the list of things ive already screwed up and fixed already LOL
