2g upper ball joint spins

I can't seem to get the grisp to clamp ona nd keep it from spinning, how should I apply pressure on top of the joint? I know the lower one can be stopped using a jack but what about this upper one?

I usually jack up the whole knuckle so there is pressure on the joint, and then go at it with an impact also.

What nick said^+1 I have actually used a rachet strap too around the whole assembly till i get the nuts off. It's not the most professional way,but it definetely does the trick.
