im going to a 50trim in about 3-4months..........I already have dsm link, FMIC, 255lph,(all not installed), some other supporting mods, and im either going with 780's or 880 injectors.........my goal is around 400whp..........my question is would it be ok to install everything now and tune it for about 15psi with the 780's or 880's and stock turbo until i get my 50trim in the summer?? im just thinking that maybe it will run crappy with that set up
any advice would be appreciated
thanks

you'll be fine. i was running my 950's with my 14b. just make sure you set up dsmlink for those injectors and everything will be AOK

As people said before... IT IS CRUCIAL TO TUNE ONCE YOU PUT THEM IN!! If you get blow-by you could dry out the piston rings and then score your cyinder walls, which could be costly.

I had 650s with my 50 trim and saw peak 103% idc. I went to 950s. Injectors are a supporting mod and its definately best to have the right size in place before they get maxed.

+1 on the 950cc injectors.
The Delphi 950 cc has worked well for me.
375 dead time and -53% global on DSMlink and you're damned close

650cc will not get the job done on a 50 trim.
I'm looking at a DSMLink log on my laptop right now that shows 82.7% injector duty cycle with 950cc Delphi at 26.5 psi (GM3bar) and 11.1afr (LC-1)

you should be ok.. like they said^^^^^^ get a good tune!! just be careful to not wash the pistons with fuel.. that= code: no joy!! goodluck with your build!!!

This is incorrect. The OP had DSMLink while MattratfTSI is asking if he can do the same on a SAFC.

well heres the story, my friend called me up and said that he had some 850s, a fuel pump and an SAFC that he wanted to get rid of cheap(and I mean cheap). My car is completely stock at the moment. Hes going to tune it and he claims there should be no problems with the huge injectors to be tuned with safc. Is he just feeding me a bunch of BS because he just wants to get rid of them or what? if he is real good with these cars (and he is) is it possible to tune these to run with safc? thanks alot

The problem with the AFC is that it dials in injectors by "lying" to the ECU. It tells the ECU it sees less airflow from the MAF, which makes the ECU fire the injectors for a shorter period of time and provide less timing advance. The bigger the injectors, the bigger the "lying" so when you get to a large injector like 850s, it will become very hard to get a decent tune.

Common agreement amongst the forums is that 650s is the max you can run with an AFC on a stock DSM ECU.
