Ok so Ill be pulling the cylinder head out of my completely stock 92 TSI in the next week (bent valves) and was thinking since my head will be off it would be a good time to upgrade the internals.
This is approximately what I had in mind (not limited to these options):
-Jackson Auto Machine SS Valves (*Standard size)
-Jackson Auto Machine Titanium Springs/Retainers
-264/272 cams
-Adjustable cam gears
-3g lifters
-Oil port mod.
-Gates timing belt
The question is; will it be inefficient or even bad to upgrade to those parts since the rest of my setup is completely stock (for now) beside a Holley fuel pump and NGK sparkplug wires? The car is a 1992 TSI AWD w/ auto trans. Still has the stock 13b turbo.
I do plan to upgrade everything shortly (as per upgrade path) and will run a MHI EVO III turbo setup for a while I will eventually upgrade to a holset hx35 7 blades, but this is only in 2-3 years or whenever I have the funds.
Thanks, and feel free to let me know if you have better ideas for parts or options etc..
ps: Im not looking to get significant hp increase with this, but I'd like stronger and more reliable internals to start with. I would obviously go a different route if I didn't have to pull the head... fwi
