My sponsor and friend KBR Performance Vallejo, CA pulled the engine out of the car last week. They stripped the long block down and my now full sponsor machine shop TEM Performance Napa, CA is on the case.

I was really happy that TEM came through to sponsor us on the labor for the engine because I have NEVER found another machine shop that I trusted at this level I was really paining over that I couldnt afford TEM, I would have to go to wherever was willing to sponsor so that was a huge relief. I belive that the head porting that he did was spot on and in combination with the Magnus 2.4 is what lead to the torque curve that we achieved on the car. So huge thank you to those guys TEM Machine and KBR Performance for the effort there. Rich @ TEM says that by the end of the week he should have space in the engine room to get into the motor. We will know by then exactly which parts have to be replaced. The thing is that there will be so little time we will be in a mad dash to get the parts we need for the engine and have enough time to put the car back together. If we had money we'd just find the parts and order them overnight but its wayyyyy more complicated when you don't have money and dont know what parts you even need yet. That will be the big thing that can put us out of business in a hurry.

Karlo @ KBR was reporting that pulling the motor out is much easier now. All the fittings are AN lines even the water plumbing plus the custom wiring harness makes things a lot more simple. He didnt even have to pull the radiator to get the engine out because of the new radiator positioning. So thank you to Nick at NSFab for the wiring harness, finishing the radiator setup. And Angry Panda for putting the radiator/IC box together.

At Spring mountain we had temperature stability of ONE degree. It was 105 degrees F and as long as the car was moving the coolant temperatures were stable within ONE degree +/- of 192F That is really impressive for a car with a FMIC.

Big ups to Sam @ RRE for the parts he donated to us. It means the world to us, thank you.

I leave tomorrow for Laguna Seca to work for LG. So please tune it 2:30 EST on Speed channel this Sunday to root for the #28 LG Motorsports Corvette in GT2! It will be epic :hellyeah:

Glad to hear there's hope in getting you back out there! Good luck at Laguna Seca and with your car as well.

Any chance you can share information on your engine cooling setup?

Your welcome. Good luck with getting it back together, and good luck to you and LG Motorsports out there at Laguna Seca.

so heres a lil update guys. I just went to TEM today and checked out the motor. the Rods are still good and might need a little re-conditioning but otherwise their in very good shape. also, the crank is still in very good condition. our Machinist, Rich Olivier told us that the bearings are still in very good condition. but we'll get that replaced as well since bearings are pretty cheap. and as for the block, we still need to figure out if its still rebuildable or not. we'll find out by tomorrow.

aite, peace.

Great to hear the crank is still in good shape, bonus on everything else. I bet thats a little relief LOL. I am very much looking forward to seeing this thing get back out on the track. As well as what you will do with the AMS evo. That thing is already a beast, with your touch I can only imagen LOL.

so heres another update. the block needs to be replaced since its pretty much bored out too much. so what we'll need now is a good block (hopefully un-touched and never been bored out) and a good set of pistons.

aite, peace.

So, what's the word on this beast.
That's great the rods and crank are still good.
Those are mighty fine pieces of Magnus Rotating Assembly $$$ right there.
Can the block just use a hone and drop in new slightly oversized pistons?
I know Drew mentioned you're already at 87mm bores.
Maybe Rich can take off like .010" and Magnus can get you a fresh custom set of 87.25mm 4G64 Long Rod Pistons for ya....
Keep us posted.
I've been talking with Rich about building my short block, and that guy really knows his stuff!
TEM Performance FTMFW!

hell yes, Rich @ TEM is a very knowledgeable machinist. for his age (mid 30's) he really knows his shit! anything from stock to fully built 4 bangers to full blown supercharged, alky, or whatever ####ing V8 motor.. shit, even a diesel tractor motor he can build it! his shop is tits too. hella different kind of engine there... and all of them are built engines from $10K to $40K worth.. each!

aite, peace.

We're reusing the block. Rich@TEM pulled some strings to get custom pistons made on rush rush job. I honestly cannot say enough good things about Rich and his shop. I've never had a machine shop come through like this before, especially one that produced high quality reliable work.

Everything is waiting on those pistons. These time lines have become unbelievably tight at this point. Rich is trying to have all the machining done just waiting for those pistons at the end but basically if we dont have a motor by next weekend we can't make the race, its as simple as that so we're trying to do everything we can.

Good stuff Drew!

Your dedication and the time you take to update us on everything is really outstanding, I don't know how you do it! :)
