did you take out the honey comb in the MAF?

    clean the TB?

check all sensors and vaccum lines?

adjust the set screw on TB too much ?

This just just restated everything from the "idle surge" comment's link.

However, how would removing the honeycomb do anything? Air would pass through as easily with or without it. The entire comment adds zero help to the OP.

If you remove the honeycomb from the MAS sensor, it will affect it adversely... especially
right in front of the resister
My comment was for troubleshooting reasons... and it is a "help" you, on the other hand, are not.

The honeycomb serves to straighten the airflow in front of the Karman sensor.

So this still proves my point that removing it wouldn't be the greatest idea.

Yup not a good idea to remove them. I removed them on my 2g bc someone told me to. Forgot how it idle but it wasn’t good so I threw them back in.

I think apache211 was asking if he removed it as in that could be a problem, not suggesting he remove it. That's the way I took it at least.

I’d also do a boost leak test.

LOL, that's where the BOV is supposed to be recirculated to but it looks like your BOV is vented to atmosphere. Having a filter on there (the intake pipe) is a HUGE air leak that the MAF can't count. The vented BOV is also a problem.

You need to recirculate the blow off valve back into the intake pipe, and then make adjustments to the BISS idle air screw to compensate. The turbo eclipses are not meant to vent to blow off into the atmosphere because that is metered air that the computer is factoring into the air fuel ratio.

Take a look at how this BOV tube is routed - the BOV sits on the upper intercooler pipe. It is connected to the air intake pipe with a rubber hose. That's what you'll want to do with yours. Or, at least cap the air intake side. But it's ideal to do it as pictured. As for it dying when you cap it, you might have a whole bunch of other issues going on - air leaks in the system, etc.
