So according to the po his neighbor drove into the car while it was parked 🤷‍♂️
(Title is still clean though 🤣)

Ive brought the car to 3 body shops, first one said its impossible to repair(maaco), second said theyd do it for 12k, and the final place said its doable but would be very expensive because youd have to cut the pannel and then you risk the glass and thats a whole different issue, they also said i probably cant replace the tail light because the old one is kinda crushed into it.
Sidenote: i trust the last place because they did work on 2 of my friends cars and they definitely know there stuff.

Any ideas on what i could do?
My main concern is the light, everything else is just cosmetic.
It would be awhile before i put any money into this unless its something "small" like the light ect... just because im trying to focus on my engine then after do visual stuff.

A competent body shop should be able to pull that out, get it straight and possibly find a replacement light but matching the color will be next to impossible for the repaired area unless they can "blend" it into the current paint (which is probably faded from 30 years of sun).
Best of luck, save that car.

I agree with Marty. It's repairable but the paint match won't happen unless you paint the entire car. I've seen worse. Good body shops for cheap does not exist. Crappy body shops are everywhere.

I could tell that most shops would shy away from it. I wish my brother-in-law hadn't passed away last year. That man could have fixed it in a day, dam he was good. Had spot welder pins to pull the dents with and each and every tool you'd ever need. I'm not a body guy and he left behind those tools. We kept them but don't really know how to use some.

Sorry for your loss.

that being said what would be a reasonable ammount to pay?

Here's a vid showing off the immaculate condition my paint is in 🤣

I am not a body man, I figure around $500 + Paint.
@NWHTanK , can you give us your opinion please?

The quarter panel body work roughly 10 to 15 hrs × labor rate. I can't see what's going on behind the tailight or bumper. Maybe some tail light panel damage, roughly 5 hours x the labor rate. The car looks like basic black and the damage is at rear of the quarter so that will be your paint and blend panel . 24 to 36 inches for a blend before the adjustment panel. I'm not familiar with the 1g but the quarter spoiler looks like it will be the cut off for paint so a blend might not be necessary for the trunk lid. Thier are companies in most major cities that repair bumpers ( a body tech plus labor dosnt warrent a repair when bumper replaces charge 150 to 175 to repair a cover) unless it's under that dollar amount. Now parts , with the cars age it would be better for the owner to supply the parts , and you would skip the parts mark up. Decals , emblems , tape stripe. Good luck. Unless you know were to get them they might not get put back on , but companies that make wraps for car could prob duplicate the lower bumper stripe ( cost not sure) . Emblems well I know a guy and that I'm going to try out , looks like he does good work. Paint is rough guesstimate, quarter panel, bumper 2 tone, if sticking with those parts roughly 5 to 6 hours x labor rate + material . Keep in mind labor rate is not constant from state to state and can vary with in a state. Also keep in mind if previous damage or had a crapy repair was done then the cost will go up after the car is tore down( along with hidden damage). On a new car with a simular impact roughly 3 to 4 k. Every thing has gone up since corona(labor, material and parts) and the cars. Cars that would total roughly a year ago are now being repaired because thier value has gone up because of the demand for used cars.

@chanley talon made my decals for my 1g Talon. I think he has his emblems on Ebay now, or did. I can't remember his user name over there. Sorry.

After seeing the video. 12 k was probably to paint the whole car. The clear is lifting in areas. They can panel paint anything. From the video if just repair the quarter and bumper it will look like new and the rest of the car like crap. Lol. We sometimes get a car at the shop that is older and have to explain to them that things break because of the age of the plastics and that parts are not easy to obtain if at all. But its thier baby and they don't want to have a car payment. Point in case a Geo metro convertible , 5 years ago. It took a while to get the parts what we could and we did the best that we could . Customer knew it going in to the repair and was happy.

I gotcha so 12k was fix it and fully paint the car because without it that corner would look nice and new whilst the rest of the car looks terrible
