1G Unpinning Oil Pressure Connector

Well I'm back on the Eclipse and now I'm looking to fix some frayed and dried and cracking wires.

I'm trying to pull the spade connector out of the housings to try and replace the wires. I've got one of those fancy depining sets I picked up some years back when I worked on my Nova, but none of the "keys" work on these plugs so I'm at a loss. Does anyone know how to get the connectors out.?

Once I get them out I will open the crimps and try to replace the wires which I have done in the past. Not easy but not impossible either. Here are some pics of the connectors. One is the oil pressure switch and I forget where the white one goes since it's been disconnected for a while, but I'll figure it out .

I was able to find a replacement for the white one which I've ordered so that one isn't too crucial. Thanks in advance!

I didn’t document exactly how I got them apart, so I do not recall specifics. But I did try to model up the connectors once I had them apart, all except the white one you have.

The connectors on the inside are pretty simple with the terminals out of the way. Maybe these will help you see where your obstacles are to remove the terminals.

I’d have to dig to find them to get actual pictures. Just know, it is possible and at least these three really aren’t that difficult to disassemble.

The white one is for the oil pressure dummy light switch. Mine had the broken off tab still stuck in it.

Oil pressure sensor (gauge unit) and intermediate going from body harness side into large black connector for the oil pressure sensor (gauge unit) harness: First, push the wire and terminal further into the connector from the backside. Then, use a small screw driver or pick tool (yellow and black tool shown) between the terminal and the connector body, opposite the U opening. The screw driver or pick pushes down the catch in the second picture. I then used a second, larger screwdriver on the face of terminal to push the terminal out through the back.

Large black connector on oil pressure sensor (gauge unit) harness (intermediate connector, attaches / mounts to oil filter housing): same idea as above, push the terminal into the connector. From the non-wire side, insert a small screw driver or pick tool to push and hold down the catch. Wiggle and pull the terminal from the wire side to slide it out.

White connector for oil pressure dummy light switch: this one is slightly different but still pretty simple. The catches that need to be released are on the connector instead of the terminal. They latch on the wire-side shoulders of the tallest section of the terminal. As before, push the wire and terminal into the connector before attempting to release anything.

I used this forked tool from one of my screwdriver sets. Insert from the wire end, on the latch side of the connector. This lifts the catches inside the connector. I used needle nose pliers to grab the neck of the terminal to wiggle it out of the connector.

@Rice Burner - do you want to share the part number for the white connector? I assume it came with a replacement terminal pin as well?
