Well I own a 92 talon awd and ive been havin alot of sounds coming from my drivetrain, took it to a mechanic and he said it was the transfercase which I thought it was in the first place but ne way, took it to the dealership they checked it and "topped it off". It was fine for 2 weeks then the sounds came back I brought it back and they said it was "fine" so yea i drive around like this for about 2 months then yesterday it was vibrating really bad until something snapped. I pull over immedietly and find out the u joint on the transfercase snapped an "ear" (dont kno the correct name) off. and my drive shaft was hangin down. now is this something that i should even bother with takin to the dealership?? or is this even related to the transfer case?

sorry so long but tried to explain in detail.

if its a ujoint, just fix the ujoint they cost like 30 bucks max, and not to mention its a ware and tear part so no recall.

well I was saying that could this of happend because of the transfer case?
How many miles on your DSM?
Go read up on the recall. It's for the seal in the transfercase yoke leaking not everything related to the transfer case.

Is it possible that your u-joint just wore out? I had to replace all of mine last year becasue they wore out and started getting crunchy and draggy.

Hopefully the ear that broke is one of the easy ones to replace rather than the ones welded to the driveshaft.
