turboing a 96 spyder na

hey guys so i'm considering a turbo on the ol' spyder. it's a 96 however and with reading the guides i've come to the conclusion that you can only use the gs-t ecu on a 98-99 spyder. is this true or is it just commonly done to the 98-99? are there any other options for a turbo ecu or do i need to flash mine? any help is appreciated

Since you have a 96, you will not have a flashable ECU. The flashable ECU is only from turbo 98-99 DSM's. I would try to to find an EPROM 95 ECU (so you can use DSMLink) and just wire in the knock sensor and such yourself.

Have you considered DOHC swap before boosting? It would make your life much easier and would give you better top end than the SOHC head.

would it be possible to wire a different ecu like a 98-99 to my 96 harness? is there a diagram or guide anywhere that would show me how to do this?

The harness plug's are the same on the ecu. There will be no wiring involved.

All NT Spyder ECU's should be flashable. Just pull off the kick panel that covers it, and check to see if the case is plastic. If it is, then you can flash it. Even if you do just go ahead and swap in a turbo ecu, there really isnt all that much wiring involved.

-Resistor pack for turbo injectors
-Knock sensor
-Ground for fuel pump relay

The last time I did a turbo conversion on a Spyder, we got it knocked out in a day. No biggie. The hardest part was working around that NT upper radiator hose.
