Ok so this is what happened. The car was turning on fine and everything, I removed the dashboard(along with dash harness) and placed in a new(used) dashboard with its own wiring harness.. while I was on the process I tried to turn the car on but nothing happened no sound no click no dashlights nothing didnt really worry BUT when I finished instaling the new dashboard I tried starting it and NOTHING.. no crank, no dash sounds/lights, no tail lights from pressing the brake, nothing just silence:sosad:
The battery is a new battery so that cant be it.. I wired everything right(or so I think)-2 conntectors going to the ecu,1 to under dash fuse box and 2 more next to the fuse box-
The battery terminal doesnt even spark when I reconnect the head( it used to spark)
Might be a bad connection?a bad cable?from the battery to where ever the cable goes?
HELP...sorry to give you guys a lot to read

Having just done a black dash swap into my 95 TSi, I am a little unclear as to which connectors you are referring to when you mention that you hooked anything into the ECU? There are three connections on the far left side, one of which goes to the interior fuse box via an extension harness, the others to a three prong resistor of some type and a 4 or 5 wire connector that sound like you found fine. Two center connections drop straight down to behind the radio (I'm guessing thats what you meant by "in" the ECU since they are right in front of it?), and then three to the HVAC control surrounds. On the Spyder the top ones by the HVAC are a little different since the top control takes one of the slots that is used differently in the coupes, but there are still the same amount of connections (3).

With that said, I was able to fire up my electrics just fine with only partial connection to my dash in order to roll up my power window to avoid the rain over winter. All lights, locks, and other power equipment worked fine. I would check the 30A accessory and 60A/100A alt fuses in your underhood fuse block to make sure they are flowing! Good luck let us know what you find once you test your power output...

Did you disconnect the battery before starting? Maybe you shorted something out, check the main fuses by the battery

Yea I meant the 2 center connections behind the radio sorry.. I didnt leave any connectors unconnected in the center of the dash where the A/C & Roof controls, hazard lights etc goes.. I did leave two unconnected near the tweeter holes( one left and one right) they look the same but I couldnt find anything to connect it to..
And I think I might of f#@ed up there.. I forgot to unplug the battery so I might of blown a few fuses? how stupid can I get :coy:
EDIT: Im not really worried about the dash lighting etc.. i just want it to give me some sign of life..

Okay so I check the fuses all fuses that have to do with ignition are still intact and the 60A & 100A too.. Should I remove the dash and re do everything again?check if I pulled any wires loose?

-Sorry for the double post..

I mean thats the worst thing you probably want to do right now, but thats what I would do considering it was fine before. :(

Really thats the LAST thing id like to do.. but if it doesnt start after this im crying for sure LOL.. any other alternatives?

Get a multimeter and check voltages starting at the battery and working in to the dash connectors. Eventually you'll find something without voltage and then you'll have an idea where the problem is. Honestly, it sounds like you're missing a ground connection - check continuity from your ground wires to the frame.

I found the problem 2 days ago! I traced the positive battery cable back to the started and it wasnt even connected.. like how the f#ck did that come loose LOL
