Straight to point: I’ve swapped a 96 GST ECU in a 97 2g. I get a no start, I suspect the firing order is different. Does anyone have a diagram? Can’t seem to find one for 96. I’m assuming 95-96 is the same, correct?

I don’t know much, but it ties in with the CAS I think right?
I’m on a 4g64 with the SOHC CPS do I have to invert pins or wires?

So you have a 97 4g64 spyder that is bone stock

And youre trying to run a 1996 gst 4g63 turbo ecu?

No, I’ve turbocharged my 4g64.
- 190lph pump (relay bypassed)
- stock 450cc injectors + resistor pack
- knock sensor
- t3/t4 turbo (internal gate)

I believe I’ve done all mods necessary to use the 4g63 ecu, however I couldn’t get it to start, just crank. Late last night I noticed the 4g63 ecu has a power trigger wire to the blue pigtail that the 64 doesn’t. I wired in that pin and thought that would clear everything up but I still get no start.

I hear the 95-96 ecu has a different firing order, or alters the firing order or something of that sort. I’m just looking if someone else knows of this, preferably a boosted 4g64 owner that can help me get running.

The ecu does give me 2 fault codes: fuel pressure + wastegate solenoid, which I obviously don’t have. I’m assuming if it isn’t the firing order, that there is a fail safe to prevent the car from running without these circuits intact.

So is there a bypass to this?

Here's the firing order. You may need to use the search function further to see what is involved in the conversion

Car literally started up first crank.. thanks man, don’t you think it would’ve thrown a code with the wrong firing pattern?

I think it would have eventually thrown a crank/cam sensor code. Ive accidentally swapped 1 and 4? And the car idled fine but eventually threw a misfire code
