When I first bought my GST the owner said it had a 6 bolt block or something of the sort he said from the owner before him. I noticed when doing my timing maitnence there was a sensor near the crank. I'm guessing that's the crank position sensor correct? He also had the cam conversion input on ECU+ as 95/96. So basically I'm asking is if the 97 block has the sensor near the crank the same as the 95/96?

The CPS (crank position sensor) is on the crank on all 95-99's. The CAS (cam angle sensor) is under the intake cam sprocket on 95-96 but on the passenger side of the input cam shaft on 97-99. 1g's (90-94) have just a special CAS on the passenger side of the intake cam which provides both signals. The 6 bolt (flywheel) was on the 1/90 - 5/92 blocks. People who put a 6 bolt in a 2g (95-99) often use a special harness cable to divide the special CAS signals for the 2g CAS and CPS. When you put a 6 bolt block with a 2g head it depends which head you have (95-96 vs 97-99) as to how to connect CAS and CPS and there's a couple different ways.
