2G 97-99 Halfshaft on a 95-96 block

Hello, maybe I’m just being inexperienced but I am curious, just put a longblock into the car (2gb auto) and my Halfshaft does not lineup to the block, it’s off just slightly and it will only bolt up if it’s pulled out a little and then it leaks, is there any way to get a 97-99 Halfshaft to work with the 95-96 block or do I just have to have the matching shaft? Just wondering cause those aren’t the easiest things to find sometimes and mine has no issues with any other block I’ve tried to use. Thanks!

I am just finishing my 6 bolt swap in my 97 tsi. But only one of the botls for the half shaft bracket lines up. The other hole is about a half inch inside the brackets hole. Am I doing something wrong?And no I am not talking about the gap from no a/c bracket.

I don’t know how that thread did not pop up when I searched for it but thank you! if I’m reading it right, I should just need a 97-99 A/C bracket or a 95-96 half shaft then right?
