I am aware the 420a motor is no good, however I am looking to turbo, and tune mine to get the max hp out of it. Are internals made for the 420a exclusively or can they be interchanged with 4g63 parts?

jajaja you saying 420a is no good?. Nah you got it wrong. 420a is good on gas and have some good power if you put money into it. My turn to say negative about 4g63. They have crank walk which is 420a motor doesnt have so i hope you know which motor is last longer. :sneaky:

Crankwalk is very rare. Its overhyped. And 4g63s get great gas mileage as well. My Talon TSi gets better gas mileage than my Eclipse RS, but it probably doesn't help that it doesn't run right :p

But OP to answer your question, each motor is non interchangeable. The 4g63 is a Mitsubishi motor and the 420a is a dodge motor, not only are they designed differently, but they are also backwards motors.

I'm not 100% on this but about 98% saying that no 4g63 parts are not interchangeable with the 420a. Maybe some parts are, but a majority of them are not.

No theres definatly nothing internally swappale and id have to say no i dont thino theres nothing interchangable under the hoods i mean fuses relays maybe but there bass ackwards from eachother. after having both i culd never knock the 420 its a solid engine for what it is

The 420a is a good engine to boost with the right internals and tuning. The stock bottom end isn't very strong but can handle a little boost. Also it is not real common for 90-94 and 97-99 4g63's to crankwalk, 95-96 are the only years that had issues.

4g63's to crankwalk
Heavy aftermarket pressure plates, hammering on the clutch pedal to release and engage the pressure plate to hammer lateral pressure on the crankshaft are also good excuses to get CW since you're pounding the hell on the thrust bearings.

Take it easy and CW is non existant.

Dodge trannies bolted to a Dodge motor are different that Mitsu trannies anyway - apples to oranges there.

420A is a good motor in-less you beat the living crap out of it, and then the head gasket mite not love you if its up over 130K. But they are very Turbo able even with stock internals. Depending on what your HP Goals R for the motor and what type of turbo set up your going to run..
