My car this morning started to develop a rod knock..
I was looking to just replace the whole engine instead of doing a rebuild.
i was wondering what other engines would bolt up to my trans and have close to no fab. on motor mounts. I was looking for a 2.4 or something. Can you guys provide a list of cars that has a engine that will bolt up? thanks

It's gonna take a lot more then just swapping tho just so you know, mostly because of the need for different mounts and what not! Basically this only for your car. - www.neons.org • View topic - 2.4 SWAP HOW TO... 56K YOU WISH...

i can make mounts thats not a problem. i just figured if im gunna spend the money i might as well just put a 2.4 in it

Well good to know, most tend to use the cirrus, stratus or breeze 2.4 blocks. - to answer your question to your first post.

But as that write up said, any Chrysler engine with a 2.4 from 95-02 can be used so lots of choices!

*** also if you have an automatic you can do the 3.0 swap?! Lots of guys on ASEC have done this. - never mind :(

it is a auto what all will i need to do for the 3.0?

Son of a.. Well to my misconception I just read through the whole swap again, it's been a while. This is for only those with the 6G73 engine (2.5L) to match up with the 6G72 engine (3.0L) which also have the same trans as each other. Now if you still wanted to do a swap where you want to make different mounts for the motor you could "possibly" do this still. Here's the write up just for knowledge sack on the swap if you like - How To: Perform A 3.0 Swap In Your A/S - ASEClub

Again, sorry I misunderstood the swap at first

:thumb:thanks anyways.
im just gunna build my engine to handle boost and slap a turbo on it
i might as well do it while i have it pulled thanks for the info tho guys

well there goes that idea turns out my block is crack.
now i seen the neons have a 2.0 dohc engine but the head is reversed now is it possiable to use the head off my 420a ? and use the bottom end of the neon 2.0 dohc?

Yes. Use the same year block as your original one. Or just find a 2.4 edz block if you're good at fabricating or know someone who can.
