Okay guys so here's the deal I have a 98 gs that was converted to turbo when I bought it but here's the thing I don't have the cash to get the parts I need and I need to drive the car so what are the steps to de turbo the motor. I know you have to remove the turbo, intercooler an piping etc. but what r the steps so the motor is back to non aspriated. I know you have to change injectors, but what else would be nessasary. Help please

First off did they just add the turbo or did they build the motor to support a turbo.

I know you will need a exhaust manifold and a down pipe back to the cat, or get a cheap ebay header.
You also need a intake just find a cheap one on ebay also.
Did they add anything like a missing link, or fmd.

You don't need to worry about the injectors, car can run on bigger injectors, that's if they even did changed them.

Need to see what all they did need more info.

yeah like he said it may be WAYY simpler to just fix whatever the problem is, basically you may need to get An oem fuel pump AND injectors (if they were upgraded) get non turbo headers and downpipe, depending on the build it may have forged internal parts, these are fine to keep in. get a different cold air intake that doesnt have a BOV and remove all other necessary turbo parts (intercooler and piping, wastegate, oil feed lines and catch tank, other tubing and accesories) THENNNNN will need to get your ecu tuned or flashed to go back to stock air/fuel maps, BASICALLY, just fix whatever is wrong it will cost you WAY more to go back to naturally aspirated

this is very untrue. if they have bigger injectors (most people run stock injectors and put in a aftermarket fuel pump) then you need the stock ones back in. the stock ecu cant compensate extra fuel really, you will run rich and could do more damage then you think. do you see any wires hacked up around the ecu or intake manifold by the map sensor? you need a new header and down pipe as stated and un-wire anything that isnt stock. unless its like a wideband keep it but any fuel cut defender or missing link needs to come out. if you take out the back seat cusions you can get right to the fuel pump and see what they did if anything. do you have any pictures you can post?

also not correct. our ecu's can not be flashed only reprogrammed which you wouldnt have to worrie about. leave the ecu alone unless the wired megasquirt into it but if not it should run fine on the stock ecu if everything is done right. but nick is right it might cost more to do all of this then fixing whats wrong unless the turbo or something serious is bad.

What needs to be fixed on the car? It is more than likely cheaper to fix it the way it is than to go back to na. Also like posted if it was built around the turbo, which since its 420a it was, it may or may not necessarily be reversed. Or at least not easily/cheaply.

Well I believe that only the basics were done motor wise to support the turbo. The stock manifold is still on. Along with much other stock parts. I'm not sure if internals are changed or not but coming from a 4g63 builder and another Chrysler head that I need to get the mega squirt for my ecu on the downside I down have the 1200 to spend on a mega squirt. Thought it would be easier to pull turbo, piping, IC. Slap on stock headers and exhaust wise an get a stock ecu so readings are correct.
