Right now I'm hitting 19psi @ 4300rpms. The 2-3 shift is spinning the tires OMG

Bought some stickier tires, hopefully that'll end that. Also bought an LSD and billet steel shift fork. Here is my car:

I have to agree with you ,my exhaust manifold was a very cheap buy ,and probably the best bang for my buck .

Dont get me wrong my car doesnt respond as quick as when it had the t2small but im not complaining with what I have now.

Decided to go ahead with the tubular. I'll post some results/logs next week :D

I appreciate all the input. I have been diligent in the research regarding all the possible turbo options. I belive that I am most intrigued by the 18g with clipped td05 wheel that FP is running for $629. FP has it rated at 600 cfm. That should be sufficient with supporting mods for 330whp on pump with a mid 3k spool. I believe that with the larger wheel it should outflow the EVO 16g uptop. A set of HKS 264/272's should make for one hell of a mid-upper range punch while still maintaining some fairly civil street manners. I remember one guy talking about his 18g experiance and have searched here and TALK for more input. It seems that there isnt alot of feedback for this turbo besides from people that have never owned it. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance :dsm:

Uhh, check the first page, I owned one and posted about it for you. The 18G is a great turbo for building a quick car. It is similar to a B16G, slightly bigger. If you add the cams as you posted about then the car will definately have potential. Without the cams, you'll never hit 330whp on pump gas, probably right around 300whp. With what you had posted that you wanted out of your car the 50trim is really a much better option but I had a blast with my 18G too but it wasn't FAST it was QUICK. I figured with the WRX to satisfy your quick-strike needs you'd want the GST to be a high speed beast. True the 60-1 is way too laggy but the 50 trim is nothing like that, it spools moderately fast (full boost around 3600 rpms) but the top end is superior to the 18G.

Either way, good luck to you and be sure to get your cams installed with the turbo.

if you want more then 300 whp, get a 20g or bigger and save yourself the trouble of having to do things twice. if you had a 16g ported to hell and back, on a motor with alot of porting, cams, ect, you might hit 330 whp on race gas at around 24 psi. iv had a 16g on one of my pervious dsms, and its a very nice upgrade in comparision to a stock turbo, but it just doesnt flow enough air to make any really impressive numbers on the dyno.\

my 20g set up made 300 awhp at 4500 rpm @ 18 psi. my cams should make peak power more around 5500+, problem is i have boost creep to 25+ psi and cant keep the throttle down long enough to get that high without boosting too high for pump gas. would have made more along the lines of 350 awhp onm pump had the boost creep not been an issue.
one of my buddies just put an evo3 16g on his 2g awd, 900cc injectors, AEM EMS, tuned on dyno with wideband @ around 19 psi. was tuned to perfect AF ratio, and couldnt get to 300 awhp on pump.

why would anyone run 900's on a evo 16g first off....then only dyno it at 19psi second off, then a ems to boot???? WTF i ran mine at 21psi on 660's with a chip and safc...........i guess i just don't have the supporting mods for this turbo then??? OMG

My Evo III 16G is unported. It doesn't need to be ported to make good power. My 1G head isn't ported. My 1G intake manifold isn't ported, either. Neither is the Evo III exhaust manifold. My engine just has 2G pistons and 6-bolt rods.

I bet I'm a little bit over 330whp on race gas. ;) You don't hit 118.78mph in the 1/4mi in a 3315lb car with just 330whp, sorry.

Sounds like that car had issues. What intercooler was he using? Did he have upgraded cams? Exhaust? What dyno did he make those numbers on?

If you and I raced, who would come out on top? I'm not trying to be an ass. I honestly don't know since you didn't post your times. But my point is that there are poor running versions of every set up out there, and there are also setups that run very well. Just because one setup does poorly doesn't mean that every car with that turbo is going to be slow.

Should a well running 20G car be in the mid to low 11s? Should a well running Evo III 16G car be in the high 11s? Yep.
