Turbo still doesnt boost.

My theory was if the Cam Timing was severly off or you had bent valves then your leaking boost past the valves. A few of us not sure who mentioned leak down and compression test. You havent done that yet. We can only offer advice you have to try it.

Ive been re-reading all of the info and to my knowledge with the addition of the last few posts your pretty much on your own. Im not trying to be rude but IF everything checks out OK like your saying then the car would be boosting fine. Something is being overlooked on your part and none of us are able to actually "look" at it with our own two eyes.

I would suggest enjoying your vacation and get this off your mind. Come back and start from scratch and use this thread as a reference all the troubleshooting steps are here.

Post up results of a leakdown and compression test and we might be able to provide you with a little more insight to the issue.

Wait so have you pulled the hose straight off the wastegate just to see if the turbo would boost at all period? I'd just pull the hose off and give her a go obviously control the boost with the throttle but you get my point....

....Next thing I would check is to make sure you have an exhaust wheel on the turbo, then I would check to make sure you don't have an exhaust wheel lodged in the downpipe

heres a few question not sure if it's been asked, but I've been going over everything,

1. does your car run, and idle like normal.
2. any smoke at all, weather your at idle, or driving, warm or cold.
3. is that screeching noise still present.
4. when you did the boost leak test how and where did you put the boost leak tester. (on the turbo or on the tb)
5. when you drive the car do you smell gas, oil, or anything.
6. any back fires when you get on it.
7. are both the bovs you had crushed 1gs

pretty sure I'll have more questions later but I have to run to the store.

The exhaust wheel of the 14b is attached to the shaft.. I doubt the inducer would be spinning freely if this was the case :coy:

dude its simple...go pull the vacuum hose off of the wastegate so that the turbo will boost to whatever it wants to...if it goes above 5psi or whatever youre getting stuck at then obviously we'll know what the problem is...

...like i said earlier, youll need to control boost with your foot at that point. Do it.

I believe somewhere in this thread he has tried that and still has 0 boost.

to the op I'm in this one till you figure this out trying to eliminate all this crap on my own car.

well if its obviously not building any boost with the wastegate hose pulled off then the problem is the turbo itself, pull the 02 housing off, make sure the wastegate is SHUT...and then proceed to rig the flapper arm so it STAYS SHUT....and while its off check your downpipe for anything that's lodged, pushing something thru it just to make sure also check to make sure you have an exhaust wheel left on the turbo...if you find that nothing is lodged in the downpipe, and you have rigged up the flapper arm to stay shut, go give it another go, I can promise you that turbo will spin if you meet the above requirements, if not then youre are full of shit and most likely a piston will come shooting out of the block straight at your sack for wasting everyone's time...

Do it...ROFL

came home yesterday, disconnected dp, Boost like crazy, and then POP! I now have oil in my intake tract and Oil spewing out my O2 housing, and into the exhaust..............

i took off the turbo today, and theres still no shaft play, so can you have no shaft play with oil leaking?????
-shane

Where is the oil? If its in the intercooler and piping check the PCV system and clean out the intercooler and piping. Its most likely blow by if there is no shaft play.

not in the intercooler or piping, not in the bov or recir tube, only in the intake tube and the turbo and o2....

thanks, uhm my car is down until Monday, my homie that has my turbo, well hes busy with work, and we are all going to the casino this weekend, so ill update back after I put it on aha.

You called an exhaust wheel in the downpipe. If there was an exhaust wheel then he would have the shaft as well and he would have never went POP :applause:

well heres pics, I took off the O2 housing last night aha............
