So we did a few test runs today...

My bov is one that you have to put washers inside it to adjust how much boost it holds (turbo xs type H cbv). I did have all 6 washers inside but took 3 out to see what would happen.

Anyway i set the boost control to 15psi (extreme technologies mbc). <Stock T-25 turbo>

The boost holds steady at 15 psi until 5000rpm where it steadily drops off to 10 psi at the redline...so it turns out that my upgraded cbv holds as much boost as my stock one.. :(

will it leak less if i take a few more washers out? (i thought it would hold more boost for the more washers you add to it... )

what else could be leaking? what should i check?

t25 is overrun at high rpm's. its natural to lose boost near redline, but down 10 is a little low. mine would drop from 17 to around 13-14

ive heard bad things about turbo xs bovs leaking too...

You're assuming the bov is the problem, Have you done a leak test to verify that?

I also took a close look at your profile and I noticed two things that may not have to do with the boost drop but something you should look into.

1. 255 without and afpr.
2. No maft so I assume that you're venting since the TurboX type H doesn't recirculate.

If above are true, add to that possible boost leak which I suspect, you're running pig rich. At least get a logger so you can see what's really going on. Good luck.

1. The 255 is the only mod on my list that i dont actually have on my car yet...im waiting to install it till i get my evoIII 16g, DSM link, and injectors. I figured that it would probably not be a good idea to run that big of a pump on the stock turbo @ 15psi.

2. The type H does recirculate.

3. Do i need an afpr if i get DSM link?

4. Im going to agree that the t-25 is most of the problem.

1. If you did have an AFPR, running that pump, even on stock injectors and turbo, would no problem.

2. Then you have the Type H34, not the type H.

3. Yes, DSMLink cannot do anything to obviate the need for an AFPR.
