Turbo still doesnt boost.

when you put the wastegate on did you turn the end so that you had to pull on the actuator arm to put it back on the flapper or did you just slip the arm onto the flapper knob? if you did just slip it on the turbo wouldn't spool. i do know this from first hand experience.

I had to put the arm on first then stretch the housing over to the bolts.

have you checked for things in your intercooler piping? things, like paper towels that would obstruct airflow?

nothing inside.

When you did the BLT, how long did it take to bleed back to zero? How much pressure did you use?

I'd redo the BLT and start looking for more holes in the intercooler, the piping and the couplers. Don't forget to check vacuum lines.

How's your PCV valve look? Any dipstick poppage?

I'm fairly sure the sound isn't coming from the turbine. Are both turbos 14bs -or what are they?

Whether or not the internal WG will creep to 25psi with the flapper fully opened, I'd seriously doubt, but can't deny from experience. The real test there would be to know when that measly 4psi of boost becomes available. If it spools at 3000 and squeals its way up to redline with a max of 4psi, it's almost guaranteed to be a major boost leak. If it spools to 4psi at 4000+ and makes the sound to redline, its an exhaust leak and maybe still a boost leak too. That, or both turbos are having blade/housing meet-n-greets.

+1 it has to be a major exhaust leak or boost leak. Have you check to make sure the mani isnt blown out somewhere? You said it was coming from around the turbo area. The reason I stated the above is because I had experienced it. I posted a link earlier to the pic with just the cracks it wouldnt build boost to even 7psi at WOT under load. That is a fact :D

honestly we didnt have a gauge on the compressor, I just pumped it with air and listened for leaks, pcv valve? Does it really make a difference? and no dipstick poppage, its happened once a long time ago it spools and squeels around 3k, sometimes a lil sooner. and they are BOTH 14b's.

I havent checked the mani, The mani is a GT Highflow thats pre tapped for egt. Are those prone to cracking?????

Well, without looking at a gauge, there's no way to know how high you pressurized it. Have someone watch your boost gauge while you fill it up.

and by pretapped for an EGT, there IS a plug in it, right?

yes its got a EGT gauge in it LOL, btw I replaced the gasket on the TB elbow, and put some rtv on it, and I also cleaned the tb a bit with rtv on the back to seal it to its gasket.

I had a similar noise from a leak at the turbine inlet.

very nice, Before I read this, I figured out its the Intake pipe I have, I Ghetto rigged it, and it seems that it wasnt on all the way, so yha that solves the noise. BUT its still getting 0-2 psi of boost -____-.

I'm actually having the same exact problem 0 boost and have checked all know things, hope that one of us solves it and figure this strange problem.

yha I have no idea what the hell is going on -___-. I just redid all my hoses too.

I still don't see any results (as in numbers) from a correct boost leak test.

People can only suggest to do an ACTUAL BOOST LEAK TEST with an ACTUAL GAUGE so many times :)

let me ask you, if I pressurize it ok, lets say 15 psi, and it doesnt drop right. But still doesnt boost, what would it be?

not from the exhaust, but it started smoking last night from the engine bay 0_o. but im pretty sure it was the dipstick that popped out.

do me a favor and take the downpipe off and go drive down the road and tell if it boosts or not. Second time this happened to me. Have no clue why but give that a try.
the cat can be a problem?? LOL it's a eBay cat, my whole exhaust system is one piece =\ and I leave tmrw for vegas so I'll try it next week

I just had a thought with your two turbos did you use the same wastegate, if so I'd say bad wastegate, other wise I'd say do a compression test, what is your gauge saying during vac?

I changed the wastegate already, Vac is 19-21 on idle.

My vac was dead on. Took it for a ride and would boost 15 pounds max. Even with boost controller all the way in. Timing and boost leaks were perfect. Just a little out of the fpr. Took downpipe off. Ran like a raped ape. Called and got a new downpipe and no problems. I didnt have a cat must been the flex pipe on my downpipe. So give it a shot when you get a chance. Thats if you did a boost leak test and came back ok. You should hit your target boost even with boost leaks if it isnt anything to major.
