So a while back my AEM Truboost EBC went out and i couldnt get it working again and it was stuck on 8 psi. So i tried a MBC but still couldnt get it working past 8psi. Then i got a new AEM boost seluniod and now my turbo will bearly boost at all.. Even on WOT it only goes to a few pounds. I'm lost, any ideas what this could be?

Nope, no weird sounds or smoke. And I'll have to double check the wastegate but I dont think. Could it possibly be a fuse somewhere or something electrical? Thats the only thing I can think of but I have no clue what would bring the boost so far down

When you replaced your boost controller with an aftermarket one did you leave the factory boost controller unit electrically plugged in? or did you unplug it and remove it completely, when i replaced my oem unit with my turbosmart dual stage MBC, i simply just removed and bypassed the vacuum lines but left the unit itself plugged in and just tucked it out of the way. This may not be your problem, but it wouldn't hurt giving it a shot either way.

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Or maybe u have to reset your ecm. Maybe when your ebc bit it your computer was stuck in its last settings and by adding a mbc it confused it more... just an idea. I admit I don't have an ebc yet but im curious to see how this whole situation works out.

Hey zack, kenny here. Have you tried hooking up a mechanical boost gauge up just to see if there is something wrong with your gauge. I have a spare we could hook up for a second, I also have a bl tester. anyway if you want to come over to this side of the vally I could check your car out for you and see if we can track down this problem. .

That won't really work while the car is in vacumme. You need to pressurize your intake track to be able to show leaks,

Rev it up... it'll bubble... I did the same thing. I'm betting it's the wastegate, or *maybe* the cat or exhaust leak. Check the linkage, vacuum check the WG diaphram. My money is the gate is hung open. If it were most anything else, the MBC would've affected it I would think.

It's ALOT easier to find leaks by doing a boost leak test. There are places that you won't even be able to see that can leak. This should be done by anyone with a turbo dsm anytime it isn't running right.

That sounds good Kenny, I've been trying to get a hold of a boost leak tester but i havnt been able to find anyone lately:(. I may be free Sunday if that'll work, Ill get ahold of you sometime tomorrow or Sunday

Put pressure on the system with the boost leak tester. If your not holding presasure and you cant find where it is coming from use the soapy water.
