I'm looking into buying a turbo. I'm using a divided t4 top mount manifold. My question is that I'm looking for the fastest spooling turbo out of these turbos. Hx52 billet with 16cm housing, s366,s368,s372 turbos with a .91 divided or similar. This will be on a built 2.4 stroker. I'm looking for a high horse power quick spool. 700whp range.

Why are you comparing turbos that aren't all alike? Kinda pointless.. Naturally the Smaller 366 will spool faster then the 368 then the HX52 and the 372 is a toss up.

Your question can be answered with common sense LOL. The only argument in that debate is PRICE. The HX52 can be had for 1/4-1/3 the price. (hell I should know, I got one for sale LOL) Other than that I'm not quite sure why you'd wonder if a 366 spools faster than a larger 372 made by the same company. Of course it does.

Kinda figured that with the s366 being smaller. But let's say I'm going for 700awhp. Will the s366ett get me the fastest spool up and still make that hp. Or am I better off with the hx52. I was just looking for peoples spool rates with these turbos. I believe I would see around 30psi at 5000rpms on my 2.4 with the hx52. So when will I see 30 psi on the smaller s366ett.

In all honesty, if this was a 2.0 It'd be a toss up, but being a 2.4l I'd go with the HX52 for the savings. The spool differences wont be enough to matter and you'll have a turbo that will feel like it will spool forever.

If this is a drag car I wouldn't worry about spool up if it's under 5k. I don't think you will see below that rpm.

Its driven on the street also so I like to have a little spool
