I was looking for some help on selection for a turbo upgrade for my setup. i want something that will be streetable and pretty much bolt on. im looking for 350-400hp. Right now i have a ported small 16g. I was thinking maybe a ported EVO III Big 16g.:hmm:

Any other suggestions?

that does make since. i just was trying to keep it simple. But as you said that small of a upgrade is hardly worth the cost. I would like to try out a Holset HX-35.... :)

bolton? what all is needed or is it direct bolt on. i thought you needed a o2 housing, mani, oil lines ect.. also i would probly need another 272 cam and 1000cc injectors or bigger. ???

^ ^

Right, but you're also paying an additional $300-$350 for a different compressor wheel. The compressor wheel is literally the only difference between an Evo III and a HTA68. That money can buy cams, or other supporting mods that will also yield a noticeable power gain.

Bolton Holset, a BEP(bulls eye performance) bolton mitsu housing that can be matched with a Holset compressor either go with the hx35 or hx40, if you decide to go with the 40 go with the 6 or 7 blade pro, there is a ton of info on the holset turbos on this forum hence why it has been called the "Holset Bible" by other tuners outside the dsm world.

Would my setup match well with a holset hx35 7 blade? As for the FP DSM 68 HTA it is pretty spendy for what it is... like said about the extra 300$ for the wheels is my 272 cam i need to switch out my 264 cam.

hx35 would be a good choice, affordable, quick spool and reliable make sure you read up on how to have safe oil pressure so you dont blow the seals on the turbo, if you decide to go with it you should read the holset thread its like a million pages long but it has a lot of good info, good luck.

You could always go up to a 20g too, should easily meet your goals and give you more room to go further if you want.

I'm probably only making roughly 250whp with my 20g at 15psi right now, going for 350whp with around 22psi here in spring :)

Evo3 16G would meet your goal, but not on pump gas.. Not to mention, that it will blow very HOT air into the motor.
20g would net you solid340-360WHP ON PUMP, PROBALY @ around 25 PSI
HX-35 will go a little norh
And if you want 400 on pump and not so high boost, considr Hx-40; GT35R; FP 3065

This is all my assumption, based on numbers I've seen people made around here. Also I say PUMP gas, cause you could make more on rece gas, but can't drive it all the time with it...

Your best bet are 20G; HX-35; both at around 25PSi on e-85, just my opinion.

The evo 3 for around 320hp to 350 to the crank, around 300 hp to the wheels, full boost coming on around 3300 rpms to 3500. It would be a great choice for your goals, with the supporting mods.
