Turbo Rebuild Kit = fix shaft play?

Well I got absolutely screwed on ebay, the guy advertised the turbo as "very minimal shaft play, within specs." Well I got it and moved the shaft, the turbine HITs the HOUSING of the turbo. Is it possible a rebuild kit would fix this?

yes a rebuild kit will fix it assuming that the wheel isnt damaged and the compressor housing isnt damaged from the wheel hitting it. But you will need to have the turbo balanced after the rebuild
