hello everyone i have another problem with my car. i was leaking oil onto the frong cross member and farther down toward the middle of the car too. i took it to my trusty mechanic and he said there were lose gaskets and he said he took apart my turbo and found oil on the inside of it. hes not a turbo specalist so he said he didn't know how bad it was but it just didn't look right. but i like going to them anyways he fixed the other oil leaks and didn't charge me a dime. Any what does this mean I need a new turbo ASAP or could this just be a problem I can fix with out getten a new one. I’m not sure if the leak is in the turbo or in the compressor housing. turbo I’m guessing. I have everything in my profile on my car but a 255 fuel pump waiting to be put on (which I will save now) I was wondering what I should do I will have 600 or so dollars by august. Can I drive the car but shift around 3000 rpms till august or am I in danger of hurting my car big time. I was also wondering what is a good turbo for like 600 I want a good 350whp will I need a front mount injectors dsmlink right away or will I be save turning down the boost to like 8 or 10 till I save up that money too. Thanks for all the help. By the way I was looking at the evo 8 turbo using my 14b turbine housing what you think??
Thanks for the help

If your blowing blue smoke out the back, the oil seals on the turbo are definatly bad. If you just have oil inside the compressor housing, you might just need a catch can and a PCV valve.
If the turbo really is shot you could pick up a big 16g for $600. Leave the boost low (10psi) till you have evrything else (don't forget an AFPR). Hack and tweak it in;

An Evo VIII turbo will not work in the 6cm exhaust housing. It's actually a backwards spinning turbo (counterclockwise). I wish it wasn't cause I'd throw a 20g in mine.
Good luck. :thumb:
