ok so ive read around here for months and gathered a pretty good amount of knowledge on turboing a 420a. i just want somebody to give me a lil more help for exactly what i want.

everything i read is people wanting to run turbo on stock internals, ive read the highest you can go on a stock engine is around 10 without breaking anything, i currently have JE 8.8:1 pistons and eagle rods, as well as upgraded race bearings. now i wanna un around 15-20psi. ive taken advice form a few people on turbo kits and im leaning towards either piecing my own together or getting a treadstone kit. i just want to know what else i need to get for my engine so it can last a while, it is a longblock rebuild, do i need to get upgraded rods or springs or anyhting else? and what about the crank and cams?

and my final question t hat i have been able to find no answer for is will any exhaust system for a 420a fit on after i make the turbo conversion? i know that billions of people have probably posted something similar to this but i just wont feel sure until somebody tells me what else i need and what i have thats fine haha. any help would be appreciated

stock right now, im going to get a walbro 255lph because that seems to be the thing to do, my to do list includes Venom intake manifold, some sort of engine management (probably megasquirt), and new injectors, not sure what size tho.

i was thinking the 16g but i mean if you say so then be it ;) will i need any other internam mods to support more power? bolts springs cams crank? gaskets headers even?

YES you will deffinatly need arp bolts everywhere possible if you are going over 15 psi you need aftermarket bolts to be able to handle it. cams are up to you really if you like that lopey idle like me then go for it but if you go with cams it is highly recommended that you buy springs.

well what do you mean everywhere? just the ones for the header? and i dont know what you mean by lopey, i always just enjoyed the sound of them.

ah ok so i can just get that all done when i am ready to slap the turbo on there, and i guess i do like the lopey sound haha. well then after the bolts is there anything else i would need or would i be pretty much set? and how much does an 18g run psi wise.

Well you will need fuel injectors, and fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator and something to tune your fuel with megaquirt or afms. You should be set after all that said and done you should be good. A 18g turbo can run anything above 15psi to get the numbers yo are looking for.

well i was hoping to hit around 400, but lets say i run an 18g around 20-23psi, i get megasquirt and a 255 walbro. what size injectors would i need? and would you know a rough estimate on the hp? and are you saying i need something else with megasquirt? or are you saying using a management system such as megasquirt or some other management system. i thought you could tune with megasquirt is what im asking.

well i thought of something else today, will my stock transmission survive around 400hp? or will it tear apart LOL

well i currently have a centerline stage 2 dual friction clutch with flywheel. but my tranny will be fine for now? i wasnt planning on a differential really.
