Hey guys, I just bought my 96 Talon TSi AWD. Its pretty much stock other than some hard piping, 3in exhaust, cold air intake and what the guy says is still the stock 4g turbo but with 16g internals. He said he had the housing honed and put the 16g internals in it. Is this possible? Hes really honest, I just wanna make sure hes not pullin my leg. If it is what are the advantages/disadvantages? Thanks

did you mean to say stock 2g turbo not 4g? And anyways im pretty sure the 16g compressor wont fit in the t25 housing, but then again I could be wrong. I mean look at the size difference between the hair dryer t25 and a 16g.

Yea you can machine out a 14b compressor housing to fit the 16g wheel. Check the fins, see if they're dual fins or single fins, if they're dual, it's a 16g compressor wheel.

Think he meant stock 4g63 turbo

^Yea I did. I thought he was tellin the truth. My only other question is he told me to drive it for at least another 2500 miles on low boost to let the fins seat properly into the housings. Is this true or can I crank the boost up now? Im running about 10psi now. Im installing a neo and wideband tomorrow and want to crank it so 14-15psi. Thanks

only way to tell is to look at the turbo... it is possible to be done.

and i dunno what the hell dude is talking about with his turbo needing to break in the fins to seat properly... if your fins have seated to the housing you turbo is ###^dd up... i think he meant more like.. "wait 2500 miles to get on it... so it's not my fault when it grenades..."

sounds shady. i would take pics of the turbo, post em... and go from there on how... "honest" he is...

Ok. I'll take pics today. Hes a marine and a police officer and everything else he has told me has been correct. I just wanna crank up the boost without sendin compressor blades through my hood LOL. It is pretty loud when its spoolin, but im used to cummins diesel turbos so I dont know if thats normal? Thanks again guys
