Im stuck between the evo3 16g and a 5o trim. I plan on getting 650cc injectors and just a chip. Maybe put some 272 cams in there. I allready have head studs and mls headgasket. I dont plan on doing anything to the bottom end. Ill run 20-22 psi on the street. Which turbo will I be better off with? I want the car to be pretty reliable and not breakdown every weekend. I had a 2.3, 280s and a 3065 before and it was too much for a DD. Give me your opinions

Hey. I had a little fun at home and got on the internet.

Now, I still don't like the comparison. But I'll compare the 50-trim the the hx35 all day long!!! In fact forget the hx35. Let's talk about the "big" h1c. The 54mm h1c has a compressor wheel that flows the same as a 50-trim and a turbine wheel that flows the same or better than the common 50-trim turbine wheel the t3 stage 3 (t31) turbine wheel. The spool of my big h1c has been about the same as my small 16g. But I see about 3-4 lb/min more airflow at the same boost through out the rpm range and at different boost levels. The turbine is the same turbine found on the hx35. It flow VERY well for it's spool speed. And that's king for pump gas a nd a great street machine. Pumpgas power comes from more flow per psi than an alternative. And streetability for your pumpgas power house comes from great spool speed and great flow early in the rpm range. The big h1c/wh1c/hx35 has done that.

I would imagine a water cooled mitsu turbo would be the most reliable. And ild go clipped ported td06 20g if reliblilty were the issue. For power to price it seems holset has the advantage tho.

It is very simple:

-HX-35
-BEP bolt on housing
-keep the stock intake and TB/60mm/
-throw in some 272's

With all the items mentioned above, you'll have great spool, besides the 272's, which you are going to need for little more top end. Make some nice and straight IC piping...

The best part is after that:
ENJOY !!!
